Bruno Mars Ties Elvis Presley, Phil Collins And Frankie Valli’s Records With His Seventh No. 1 Single “That’s What I Like” Topping The Billboard Hot 100

Global superstar Bruno Mars has scored his seventh Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 with his latest worldwide smash, “That’s What I Like.” The triumph comes exactly seven years after Bruno scored his first Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 with “Nothin’ On You.” What’s more, Mars is one of the few artists to have written and produced each of his No. 1 hits and has had a No. 1 song on the Hot 100 from each of his first three studio albums. With seven Hot 100 No. 1s, Mars is now tied with Elvis Presley, Phil Collins, and Frankie Valli for the most chart-toppers among male soloists, and is also ranked #1 amongst male artists with the most Hot 100 No.1s for this decade; extending his lead over Justin Bieber, Drake, Eminem, and The Weeknd. The superstar is the fastest male soloist to reach his first five No. 1s since Elvis Presley.

“I’m extremely honored to get the gold this week!” Mars says of the achievement, “It’s amazing to see an R&B song at the top of the charts – such a great moment! I love everybody right now! CHEERS BILLBOARD!”

That’s What I Like” is the second platinum single and Top 5 hit from platinum album, 24K Magic. The album has proven to be one of Mars most successful yet, remaining in the Top 10 on the Billboard 200 for 22 weeks since its November release.  Recently, Mars scored simultaneous No. 1s on the Billboard Pop Songs and Hot R&B Songs charts with “That’s What I Like,” marking his eighth No. 1 on the Pop Songs chart. This milestone officially ties Mars with Justin Timberlake’s long-standing record for the most No. 1s among male soloists on the Billboard Pop Songs chart. “That’s What I Like” became Bruno’s first No. 1 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and has held the top position for eight consecutive weeks. The single also marks Bruno’s thirteenth Top 5 hit and extends his record as the male artist with the most Top 5 singles this decade. Additionally, the eye-catching companion video, directed by Mars and Jonathan Lia, has garnered over 304 million views to date.
