Our readers may remember that back in October we posted an article that said that E! News was reporting that Maroon 5 and Bruno Mars would be taking the stage at the Super Bowl 50 halftime show. Since then those reports have been proven false as we now all know that Coldplay will take the stage with their special guest Beyonce Knowles. Chances are they will be performing a piece of their recent collaboration, “Hymn For The Weekend” from Coldplay’s multi-platinum album, A Head Full Of Dreams. But one thing is for sure, we were half right with our October report. It is now safe to say that because Bruno Mars used his Instagram to both tease and also confirm that he will in fact be a part of the half time performance. Will he bringing some “Uptown Funk” to the football field? I guess we will have to watch and see!
If you still want to pre-game and prepare for Coldplay and Bey to hit the stage, you’re in luck! Beyonce did what she does best and surprised us with a new song and music video conveniently right before she hit the stage with Coldplay and Bruno. That new song is called “Formation”, and it was produced by Mike Will Made It. The track was debuted on Tidal on February 6th, with the song’s video was also published on Beyonce’s personal YouTube channel. Various sources are expecting the queen Bey to debut the track on the Super Bowl stage. Check back with us next week for all your Super Bowl halftime highlights!
