Yesterday we reported that Avicii was hospitalized right before a show in Miami on Thursday. You may remember that Avicii made his way to Miami for the Ultra Music Festival and a residency at SLS South Beach called, “Avicii Hotel.” However all those plans were put on hold when DJ Cassette announced to his crowd that he was in the hospital for an undisclosed reason. At that time no one was sure what was going on, and if Avicii would return to the SLS for future gigs. However, any hopes of seeing him play at Ultra or any version of Avicii Hotel are now lost. TMZ reported late last night that they had learned that he is actually still hospitalized. Apparently sources close to the DJ have revealed that he had a blocked gallbladder and needed emergency surgery to get it removed. We will keep an eye on the unfolding details of his condition, in the meantime Ultra fans will be happy to know that DeadmauS will be replacing Avicii at the festival tonight. (Saturday)
