Jacob O’Neal Latimore, Jr. is an American R&B/pop recording artist and actor. Jacob grew up around several musicians such as his father and uncles who make up the The Latimore Brothers and his cousin Kenny Lattimore. By age 9, young Jacob went on to pursue a professional music career. Jacob began performing at talent shows,making a scene at local events, and even landing a spot on Maury, on the “Most Talented Kids” (2006) episode. In 2007, he and his family moved from Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Atlanta, Georgia to take his career to the next level.
Jacob’s team set up a premiere showcase to introduce him to the Atlanta music scene as he performed for executives and taste makers. The showcase attracted Grammy award winning producer Rodney Jerkins and R&B singer Lloyd and introduced him to producers Corna Boys and Rico Love.These producers scored Jacob his first viral single “Superstar” that charted on Billboard R&B and Hip Hop Sales Charts.
In 2010 with the help of a viral video performance of Jacob covering songs by Michael Jackson, Usher, Omarion, and Justin Timberlake,he caught the eye of RCA Records A&R, Wayne Williams. Jacob soon joined the label in March 2010 and brought along managers Larry Rudolph and Jeremy Geffen.
Jacob’s first single “Like ‘Em All” featuring Diggy Simmons and produced by Infinity, sparked his fanbase to unbelievable heights as teenage girls became enchanted by his smooth vocals and hip dance moves. In 2011, Latimore released “Nothing On Me” and “Like ‘Em All” (Radio Version) feat. Issa, his Crown World Entertainment and RCA Records label mate. All three songs have made it on 106 & Park Hip-Hop and R&B Countdown.Latimore then went on to be featured as in act on the 2011 Scream Tour “The Next Generation” along with Mindless Behavior, Diggy Simmons, and many more young artists. He was also featured on Diggy Simmons’s “Life of the Jetsetter Tour” and most recently Mindless Behavior’s #1 Girl Tour. He was nominated for the “YoungStars Award” at the 2012 BET Awards. In the latter part of 2012,Latimore release the single “You Come First” and is mixtape “This Is Me” featuring talents such as Diggy Simmons, and the OMG Girlz
Latimore broke out of the kiddie image with his mixtape “This Is Me Vol.2”, which focused around mature,relatable topics. The mixtape received raved reviews from many who thought Latimore to still be a 13 year old boy. He also land roles on the big screen starring in the several movies such as Black Nativity, Ride Along, The Maze Runner. He acted among Jennifer Hudson, Angela Bassett, Tyrese Gibson, Forest Whitaker, Mary J. Blige, Kevin Hart, Dylan O’Brien and many more.
In the summer of 2014, Jacob released his single “Heartbreak Heard Around the World” as he stepped into pop influenced boundaries. Many praised Latimore for the new fresh sound of the song and gave him thumbs up for his hard work and big changes. With a fanbase already in the hundreds of thousands and next millions, Jacob is soon to be the world’s next Superstar.
