In addition, the album reached #1 on iTunes in over 75 countries, including the U.S. It has also debuted at #1 on the Official UK Top 40 Albums Chart.
Hailed as “impenetrably perfect” by Rolling Stone, the soundtrack to A Star Is Born was released on October 5 (the same day the film opened). The double album features new music from its principal stars: six-time Grammy Award-winner Lady Gaga and the film’s director, four-time Oscar-nominated actor Bradley Cooper.
Performed by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper, the soundtrack’s lead single “Shallow” is currently #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and has held the #1 spot on iTunes since the day after its September 27th premiere. The original song was written by Lady Gaga, Mark Ronson, Anthony Rossomando, and Andrew Wyatt.
Featuring 19 songs in a wide variety of genres and musical styles, the soundtrack to A Star Is Born also includes 15 dialogue tracks capturing many of the movie’s unforgettable moments. As a result, the album takes listeners on a journey that mirrors the romantic and musical arc of the two lead characters: Bradley Cooper’s Jackson Maine, and Lady Gaga’s Ally.
