A “F***ing Perfect” Song
Now at 31 years old, pop singer Pink has been making music professionally for over 10 years. In what is considered a lifetime in music industry years, she has regularly hit with songs that are catchy and fun like ” Get The Party Started,” personally reflective with songs like “Family Portrait”, or envelope pushing and provocative with the likes of “U + Ur Hand.” Regardless of what stances she takes on a given song, with each music video and album each, chronicles both her coming of age, and sharpening of artistic expression. This fact is partucularly evident with the release of her Greatest Hits….So Far album at the tail end of last year. Already including those previously mentioned hits, the album also features the milestone of the album’s first original bonus track single “Raise Your Glass,” which went number 1 on the charts just recently.
Now having herself as her as her biggest competition, as many of you may already know, Pink is following “Raise Your Glass”, with “F***ing Perfect” from Greatest Hits… So Far. The coolest thing about this track being released as a second single is that even though parts of the song had to be re-recorded for her to recieve a wide range of muliti-format radio and other mass media, Pink’s message of hard edged inspiration is in no way lost or dampened. In fact you have to give credit to the fact that through this refinement, in some circles the song now called “Perfect” may actually be a better song. Keeping all of the great qualities offered by”F***ing Perfect”, The same message is championed, but in what appears to be a more direct and concise manner. It is a great example of artistic maturity that is rarely seen in a pop artist today. Our hat is off to you Pink. Babe, when it comes to careers, yours is F***ing Perfect.
Take a listen and see if you agree.
