Founding member of pioneering rap group 2 Live Crew, Chris “Fresh Kid Ice” Wong Won has died. The group’s manager told TMZ that he died at 7:50 AM Thursday Morning in a Miami hospital because of an undisclosed medical condition. After serving in the Air Force for four years, Won formed the legendary 2 Live Crew with DJ Mr. Mixx and Amazing Vee in 1984, and later, Luther “Uncle Luke” Cambel when they signed to his label.
As a complete foursome, the group became poster children for First Amendment Rights after their As Nasty As They Wanna Be  album was the first to be labeled legally obscene by the government. Won and Campbell were arrested in 1990 after a live performance police deemed obscene and lewd. They are best known for stand out tracks “Me So Horny” and “Banned In The USA.”   Later he went on to form his own label, Chairman Records.  Chris Wong Won was 53 years old. Rest in peace.
